What to check locally
- Ask what's in the pallet (manifest or category and grade) and whether you can open one before paying.
- Bring a vehicle that fits a pallet, or ask about loading and local delivery.
- Be wary of social-media sellers asking for a deposit by Zelle or gift card before you've seen the goods. More scam warnings.
- Run the numbers with the pallet profit calculator (set freight to your gas and time).
Online options with nationwide shipping: B-Stock, Direct Liquidation, Liquidation.com.
FAQ
Can I pick up online pallet auctions near Chicago?
Some listings are buyer-arranged shipping, which can mean local pickup if the warehouse is nearby. On B-Stock Supply, pickup instructions come after payment. Check the listing's location and shipping info before bidding.
Do I need an Illinois resale certificate?
Business sellers may ask for one so they don't charge sales tax. Illinois uses Form CRT-61. This isn't tax advice.
